A personal note to end the year!
Reflecting on 2025 and Rebirthing and Renewal 2026
As 2025 draws to a close, we find ourselves at the cusp of a Universal Year 9—a period of profound completion, introspection, release, and spiritual growth.
As this year nears its conclusion, I’ve dedicated time to reflect on the unexpected, unplanned, and full-of-surprises journey that unfolded.
(Thoughts on the New Beginning—2026 follow below this reflection)
I began composing this journal while away on a holiday with Carlos, and I am finally able to complete it here in Sydney. We experienced a truly memorable Christmas, surrounded by our children, grandchildren, and extended family. I trust that you, too, have cherished the time spent with your loved ones during this festive season.
Reflecting on 2025, I am filled with gratitude for the transformative three-month trek across Europe. Greece stood out as a particular highlight, captivating us with its sapphire waters and rich historical tapestry. Santorini left an indelible impression, with its picturesque, whitewashed villages, delectable seafood by the waterfront, and, of course, the legendary sunsets that were truly magical.
From there, our journey led us to England, where we immersed ourselves in the regal ambiance of its streets. The presence of stately personalities that may have stood there before us was palpable. We moved on to York’s medieval heart, The magnificent Minster was breathtaking, its shadow casting a profound impact on the streets of rich, ancient history. Standing there, we were enveloped by the weight of a thousand years of history, an awe-inspiring experience indeed
The Celtic heritage resonates deeply within the Castle perched atop the Royal Mile in Edinburgh, extending to the ancient stones of Inverness and the enigmatic depths of Loch Ness. The rolling hills and moors beneath the watchful gaze of the heavens offer a constant stream of rain, a cleansing and invigorating force that cascades upon the emerald green fields, creating a perpetual paradise. The northern skies, filled with the whispers of time, must be experienced to fully comprehend their richness. A subtle hint of the spirit of Robert Burns lingers in the air, intertwined with the echoes of history, poetry, and the secrets of the ages, beckoning to those who are receptive
Across the vast expanse of the sea lies my homeland, Ireland, its emerald shore beckoning me. I venture into the misty veil, traversing the lands where Burns and Yeats once roamed, where the fierce Atlantic wind caresses the tranquil shores. Ancient voices echo through the landscape, and I eagerly embrace its wild, thunderous roar, guided by it to celebrate and mourn the essence of life. This surge of passion and vitality nourishes my being, as a simple Irish lass, I find my true belonging once more, a wanderer’s sweet reward for an eternity.
With a heavy heart, I bid farewell to my homeland and its wintery chill. I will miss the vibrant Irish pub scene, but I eagerly anticipate the tapas and warmth that awaits us in Malaga. Located in the southern region of Spain, Andalucía boasts breathtaking sun-drenched coastlines, historic streets, and the profound cultural heritage of my husband, Carlos.
During the final three weeks of our journey, we immersed ourselves in the idyllic lifestyle of Malaga, embarking on occasional excursions to neighbouring Spanish regions. It was a revelation to discover the extensive evidence of centuries of Moorish influence in the region’s architecture and customs.
The picturesque white villages (pueblos blancos), once the gathering places of the Moorish people, were particularly captivating. These whitewashed, flat-roofed dwellings constructed against the steep slopes presented formidable defensive challenges in the past. Frigiliana, a town dating back to Roman times, boasts a remarkable blend of Moorish and Roman architectural influences. It offers one of the most picturesque and spectacular views of the Costa del Sol.
Ronda provided us with an opportunity to experience the tranquil ambiance of its town. Its magnificent panorama of mountains, encircled by the city walls, is a testament to its enduring popularity as a heritage site in many European countries. The charming fishing village of Nerja, dating back thousands of years, continues to evoke a sense of history. Its stunning coastlines and secluded coves exude a timeless charm.
Our journey to Spain was truly remarkable, offering us the chance to unwind and rejuvenate. As we anticipate the arrival of 2026, it is evident that this year will be a powerful Universal Year 1, heralding a fresh start and new beginnings. Therefore, it is imperative that we seize this opportunity to take proactive steps, establish the foundations for future growth, launch new projects, and embark on personal transformations. With courage and self-awareness, we shall confront the uncertainties that lie ahead.

-The Energy Check: What is the one activity or goal that makes you lose track of time because you love it so much?
-The Legacy Question: If you could be remembered for just one quality
(e.g., kindness, courage, intelligence), what would it be?
