This is a very powerful combination in an individual. E1 and E8 share a common concern in fighting for truth and justice in their world. Both archetypes are fiercely proactive, don’t sit on their hands and wait for others to do things, in fact, they feel that it’s up to them to fight for whatever stands in the way of justice and truth. They both see themselves as honorable crusaders protecting the vulnerable, righting wrongs, and make it their mission to make the world a better place. They are both fiercely self-reliant and do things “their way”.
Both are passionate visionaries and bring a certain nobility to their purpose of practicality, and perseverance in supporting whatever they believe is right. Both are known to sacrifice a great deal -including self – to do whatever needs to be done for the “greater good”. For both, fairness, honesty and integrity are paramount (E1 bringing a sense of ideal truth and justice and E8 a more practical and immediate approach).
The combination of these archetypes in an individual is very powerful, this combined energy accomplishes things with a clear cut sense of purpose and personal mission. Both find it easy to make decisions and are very direct.

The E8 brings passion and gusto to the cause which counter-balances the E1’s self-restraint and propriety. The E1 archetype finds the E8 exciting, physical and earthy – all the things they restrain in themselves. This energy brings a strong attraction from both sides.

In many ways the E8 and the E1 are opposites – the pirate and the school-teacher – yet they can learn so much from each-other, if they are willing to listen to someone with different values, reactions and the way of doing things.
